Wraparound Support Services
Employment and Life Skills
HOW provides a variety of services to meet diverse needs for the adults and children in its programs. The HOW Employment Program offers clients various avenues for economic growth and success in the workplace, such as Job Readiness Training, GED courses, and financial literacy workshops. HOW’s Case Managers and Employment Specialists advocate for their clients with the goal of maintaining secure housing for every household.
Children and Youth Services
HOW’s Youth & Families Team engages in two-generational programming to ensure the physical and mental health and wellness of both parents and children. Youth Services include after-school academic coaching and enrichment activities, a Saturday teen program, referrals to neighborhood tutoring and after-school programs, and helping to ensure successful school transitions from kindergarten through college. Youth specialists also work to improve youth health outcomes, provide families with parenting support, and complete child developmental screening questionnaires.
Wellness Services
Stable health and access to health care are essential factors for economic and housing stability. The HOW Health Care Coordination Program offers expertise in public benefits, intensive case management for persons living with AIDS or HIV, and maintenance of other medically complex clients. Together with case managers, the Health team works with clients to meet individualized wellness outcomes such as medication adherence, accessing benefits, tele-doc appointments, maintaining low viral loads for clients with HIV/AIDS, and obtaining personal care items such as wound care agents.
