WORKPLACE GIVING
Manage your Workplace Giving Program
A strong employee workplace giving program is an important part of an employer's overall relationship with its employees. Employees like working for a company that is active and supports social causes. It also provides an opportunity for employees to work side-by-side with management in a major workplace activity. An employee giving program exposes employees to a variety of organizations, many of which can be a resource to them in times of need. In addition, many employees are more willing to donate if payroll deduction is offered; it is an efficient and easy way to make charitable contributions. To receive a planning kit to help you start or manage your workplace giving program, contact Megan C. Williamson at mwilliamson@how-inc.org or 773-465-5770 x242.
Matching Gift Program
You may be able to double, or even triple, the amount of your gift to HOW at no additional cost to you. Many corporations match the gifts their employees give to non-profit and charitable organizations. These matching programs have been made part of many corporate giving initiatives both to extend the reach of corporate giving and to encourage employees to be actively involved in supporting their communities. To see if your employer has a matching gift program, check-out the link to the HEP/CASE Matching Gift Network at www.hepdata.com/case. HEP/CASE maintains this comprehensive database of more than 7,500 companies that support matching gift programs. Your company's personnel or human resources office can also provide information on how to process a matching gift.
