Harvest of Hope

Harvest of Hope,
an annual meeting.

This October, HOW celebrated Harvest of Hope with more than 120 donors, board and staff members, community partners, program alum and clients. Featuring keynote speaker Anita Alvarez, Cook County State's Attorney, and a special awards presentation, guests were treated to food, fun and a celebration of the year’s accomplishments.

Alvarez’s address set the tone for the night, as she shared her own personal story of overcoming adversity and achieving personal success. From growing up in a single parent household to being the first female and first Hispanic State’s Attorney, Alvarez congratulated HOW and the many women and families the organization serves for focusing on solutions and achieving the important goal of healthy self-sufficiency.

One very special highlight was the presentation of awards to clients who have also overcome adversity by accomplishing their goals of going back to school, advancing their careers, stabilizing their health or achieving independent housing.

HOW’s Harvest of Hope annual meeting and gathering is held each year at the end of October. For more information on this and all HOW events, please contact Kim Christensen, Individual Giving Manager, at 773-465-5770 x253 or kchristensen@how-inc.org.
